What the supplier documents
Slido’s current product pages describe live polling, audience Q&A, quizzes and analytics. Poll formats include multiple choice, rating, open text, ranking and word cloud. Participants can join using a link or QR code, and the supplier lists integrations with presentation and meeting tools. This is a documentation-based explainer; ETN has not measured participation rates or tested a paid plan.
Choose the question before the format
A multiple-choice question can help a speaker decide which topic to spend more time on. Open text can surface an issue the organiser did not anticipate. A word cloud can be an icebreaker, but repeated words are not evidence that a representative sample agrees. Decide how the answer will affect the session before selecting an attractive visualisation.
Give moderation a named owner
The person speaking may not be able to read, group and answer audience questions at the same time. Agree who handles inappropriate or identifying content and what will appear on the public screen. Slido’s Q&A page describes anonymous questions and voting; anonymity to the room is not a promise about every layer of data processing. Check the actual account configuration and privacy terms.
Check the presentation environment
An integration logo does not prove the setup works on the venue’s locked-down computer. Rehearse with the actual PowerPoint or browser environment, presenter account and projector. Let someone join on a phone using the venue Wi-Fi and another using mobile data. Make the joining instructions readable and provide a route for people who cannot or prefer not to use a phone.
Close the loop after the event
Slido documents exports for further analysis. Confirm which exports and limits are included in the intended plan before committing. Decide who receives the raw output and how it is retained. A useful report distinguishes people who attended, people who joined the interaction and people who answered a particular question. None of those automatically measures agreement across the whole audience.
