Ticketing and box office
Organisers can sell general-entry tickets, timed-entry sessions or allocated seats from a seating plan they draw in a drag-and-drop designer, with online and in-person bookings using the same plan so seats are not double-sold. Tickets can be issued as e-tickets, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes, or printed tickets that TicketSource posts out, each with a unique QR code. Bookings taken face to face or by phone can be recorded in the same system, and TicketSource offers a free telephone booking service in which its own team takes bookings on the organiser’s behalf. Optional extras such as programmes, merchandise or meals can be sold with tickets, and a waiting list can be switched on for sold-out events.
Promotion, entry and reporting
Promotion tools include shareable links and QR codes, automated discount codes, early bird prices, referral reports and connections to Mailchimp and Brevo. At the door, organisers can print a guest list or scan tickets with TicketSource’s app on iPhone or Android, or with wireless scanning kits. Sales reports and Google Analytics tracking are included, and registered charities can add donations and claim Gift Aid.
Fees and payouts
The pricing page says the system is free for free events and for in-person bookings. Paid online bookings carry a booking fee of 7% + VAT including card processing (minimum £0.25 + VAT per paid booking), or 4.5% + VAT when the organiser connects their own Stripe account and pays Stripe’s charges directly. The fee can be added to the ticket price or passed to the buyer, and registered charities get reduced rates. With TicketSource’s own payment processing, ticket money is paid to the organiser’s bank on the Monday after the event; with Stripe, payments go straight to the organiser’s account.
