Open-source event ticketing and management platform made by Hi.Events Ltd in Ireland. It can be used as a hosted service or installed on your own servers.

What it is for

Selling tickets online and checking guests in, for organisers ranging from weekly classes to conferences and festivals. It suits teams that want low platform fees or the option to self-host.

Documented capabilities

  • Unlimited events and ticket types, promo codes, affiliate tracking, an embeddable checkout widget and your own service fees and taxes.
  • QR-code check-in from any phone, reports and Stripe payouts.
  • Reserved seating, where buyers choose their own seats from a venue map, and a box office that takes cash or card payments on a Stripe reader, both in early access when checked.
  • Event agenda and line-up pages, view-only and event-level team access, required two-factor sign-in and company single sign-on.

Integrations and API

Payments run through Stripe. The source code is public on GitHub, and self-hosting can be set up with Docker.

Pricing model and availability

Free events cost nothing on the hosted service; paid tickets carry a 1.25% + $0.60 fee per ticket when checked, added at checkout or absorbed by the organiser, with payment processing charged on top. Self-hosting is free under the AGPL with additional terms, provided the “Powered by Hi.Events” link stays visible and code changes are offered to the people who use the installation. An annual licence, priced on yearly ticket sales, removes the link and lets you keep code changes private; reserved seating, the box office and company single sign-on are a paid add-on, included in the platform licence for installations where other organisers sell tickets.

What to check before buying

If you self-host, budget for the hosting, updates and security work yourself, and check the licence terms for your use, particularly if other organisers will sell through your installation. On the hosted service, compare the total fee including card processing at your typical ticket price.
