Event platforms connect AI assistants to operational data

Event Tech News Team · 17 October 2026
Swoogo and Ticket Tailor document connectors that can change event records, not just summarise them. That changes the buying questions.

Beyond a writing assistant

Current documentation from Swoogo and Ticket Tailor describes Model Context Protocol connections between event software and AI assistants. MCP is an interface for an assistant to call external tools. The important distinction for an organiser is whether a connected tool can only read information or can also make changes. This is a review of documented capabilities, not a claim that either connector launched on this publication date.

What the vendors document

Swoogo documents tools for looking up event data, creating registrants, updating sessions, managing attendance and sending transactional emails. Ticket Tailor describes event creation, ticket-price changes, bulk editing and reporting through its AI assist connector. Its product page specifically discusses Claude and Cursor; its FAQ says ChatGPT is not yet supported. Do not infer support for a particular assistant just because a product uses the MCP standard.

The practical consequence

The boundary is now operational. A mistaken summary is one type of problem; an assistant changing ticket prices or emailing registrants is another. Buyers should ask which actions are available to the connected account, whether they can restrict them and what an audit trail records. The existence of a connector does not establish that it has the permissions model your event requires.

A sensible demonstration

Ask the vendor to demonstrate a read-only report first, then a change to a test event with an explicit confirmation step. Revoke access and verify that further requests fail. Use non-personal test data until data-processing terms, retention and access are understood. Record which assistant, plan and permission level were used. ETN has not authenticated to either connector and makes no independent security or time-saving claim.
